Deacons wielding power, a perfect facade of Vatican II's watering down of sacraments, courtesy of Pope Paul VI and the Council's modernist agenda.
I had to chuckle. Deacons, for many generations, were the actual power brokers of the Church. St. Gregory the Great is a good example.
That said, Matrimony is one of the things I agree with them doing, since they're not exercising any power at all. The priest doesn't marry a couple: the couple marries each other, and are the proper ministers of the Sacrament.
