What I can see happening in the future: Quantum threat pushed, Satoshi and other coins frozen. Then we will see a few million coins are in fact permanently lost, then a proposal to print more coins to make up for the lost coins will be proposed, also to pay miners. They will say that it will be just until it makes up for the lost coins, then they will try to make it a forever feat.
