The autistic thing is to mess with trains, but you're better off doing the grug thing and making insanely long conveyors and pipelines for the most part. Maybe have a small train line for the oil field that's a little further off, to bring plastics in.

For nuclear, there's a big ledge above that basin area in your screenshot that can be cleared and turned into a nice nuclear spot. There's uranium nearby-ish that you can pipe down on conveyors, and the radiation won't interfere with your main base down below.
