bitcoin can be hacked the same way, can it not? make self hosting complicated (e.g legal requirements) and issue paper money representing bitcoin that you later decouple
It can be socially hacked as well, however that hasn’t happened and it’s much more difficult to conduct and succeed at such an attack versus gold.
