Seeing the sun or moon floating just a little higher than the clouds was freaky the first time I saw it. It's like your perspective (beliefs) about these astral bodies doesn't match what you're seeing.

Got a convincing explanation of why we can see Venus at night? And also why we can visibly see Venus transit in front of the sun in those rare instances? No globe models are convincing for the former. No flat models, sad as they are, convincing for either.
