One thing I realised during my break is that I'm now in the weird position where some of the things that energised my interest in the web as a field are now deflating instead

I follow a lot of semi-active dev blogs in my feed reader. One by one they've all succumbed to "AI" hype and you can always see the switch coming because they start to link to the same blog

So, now my feed reader, which used to be a haven from grift and dev nonsense is instead increasingly concentrated with nonsense
