No shame in that, we all have. I was pointing out the lesson you exposed. Don't file, or file and lose. Although there is some nuance, it's a simple concept that most people need to learn.

The farmers that have registered with various ag departments are now being beaten up, or threatened with being shut down.

Textile manufacturers signed up with the state. Now they're being threatened with impossible expenditures.

Housing developers are playing by the rules, and are no longer able to provide anything of affordability to rent or buy.

All of these producers of food, clothing, and shelter (and everyone paying taxes), have agreed to their obligations because they thought they were doing the right thing.

Now those agreements have been twisted around; and aimed back at the innocent as an attack. As you have exemplified, the time to agree and play along is over. It is time to no longer be a part of the government, and to operate in private, away from the unlawful legal system.
