GOSPEL VERSE AND REFLECTION
#REFLEFTION
On the memorial of the beheading of Saint John the Baptist, we recall the death of the greatest of prophets. Herod, though he respected John, yielded to the manipulation of Herodias and ordered his execution in prison. The prophet's head was brought on a platter as the prize for a dance.

John's death reveals how worldly power and moral cowardice can lead to the cruelest injustice. Herod knew John was righteous, but fear of public opinion and weakness before temptation led him to crime. John, by contrast, remained faithful to the truth unto death.

Reflect on the times fear of others' opinions has led you to compromise the truth. Ask for Saint John's courage to proclaim what is right, even when the cost is high. The prophet's witness endures; Herod's power crumbled.

🙏PRAYER 🙏
Lord, fill me with the spirit and power of Elijah, that I may carry on the proclamation of truth as Saint John did—boldly, lovingly, and faithfully, whatever the cost.

Jesus, I trust in You. AMEN
