I agree wrt Windows. For me, no Windows, ever. But, I think there is a general false sense of security everywhere else too. Very, very little development is designed from security up. We are now reaching the phase where open source LLMs are on par with frontier models for coding and exploit. This will continue to speed up from both better future models compounding with better performing AI hardware. It seems to me a crisis is coming as there is no longer time for “report and patch” types of security posture. All serious software needs to be hardened yesterday, with the expectation they are nearly out of time.
