The cool thing about modern Android is that you can use Shizuku to essentially do whatever you want. It's not quite as powerful as something like a custom ROM, but it comes close. I remember the days of not being able to remove things like the Facebook app. Now not only can you get rid of bloatware, but you can also tweak system functionality, add a system-level task manager, disable system-level services entirely, and break your entire system if you really want to. Very Linux!
