Yeah I'm trying to be careful around that subject. Everyone is quite proudly Christian, which is nice, but it's too risky to bring up Israel.

Another thing I'm noticing is people are basically bowing and scraping the moment they find out I was in the military. Like... what is this... Its annoying and worrying. Its one thing to express appreciation, but this is a level beyond that. The trend makes me think we're headed towards a military caste system. So basically I'm keeping my mouth shut about it and it might eventually seem rude because the guy sitting next to me is a vet and he talks about it and I haven't reciprocated at all, so he doesn't know... Imo its gone way too far. The military is just a job. Its not "service" - we got paid. That "service" thing annoyed me back then, too - right from basic, we got a nice little ribbon just for being there, just a stupid little participation trophy, and they said it was for serving. Grr. My annoyance snowballed here...

Texas... Christianity and military... And both in absolutely idolatrous ways. But no commies is nice.
