In future versions of Android, you'll still be able to install apps from "unknown" developers and from "unknown" locations. You'll just need to essentially prove that you're not being scammed and install them after a grace period.

I understand the reasons for this. It's boomers and boomer-like people.

Is this annoying? Yes.

Is this dumb? Medium.

With Android, you have a choice. You can install a custom OS and opt out of this completely or you can wait 24 hours to install your first app from a developer that didn't KYC themselves. You only have to go through this process once.

You aren't even given the choice with iOS. On an Apple device, you can't install a custom OS and you cannot easily sideload applications. That's a big yikes from me, dog.

Let-s not forget> Apple can and will cut the access to your apps anytime they want. PERIOD. If you ignore this warning you are a fucking loser that will get what you deserve.

I really hope the #GraphineOS and Motorola partnership doesn't compromise installing what we want on devices we own. I get Governments Globally are going Tyrannical but hold strong GraphineOS don't cuck. I'd rather the partnership collapse than compromise, your team is too important.
