I was excited to spend some sats for breakfast on this Memorial Day. Opened @BTC Map and headed to the closest bagel shop that popped up. Bitcoin accepted through square @Bitcoin at Block.
Showed up after a 20min drive. Ordered bagels and asked if I could pay in bitcoin.
The person at the counter, young guy says “I mean… you can! You’re the first one to ask!” he then proceeded to look for Bitcoin in the list of payment options. Nothing. He swore it used to be there… had to pay in fiat. Was bummed. And so he was as he told me he was kind of excited to try.
Still got to spread a bit of Bitcoin education as I told him there’s a 21 million supply cap.
Bagels were fire though. Will definitely be back and will ask to pay in Bitcoin again.
