social media is pretty crappy because it generally kills meaningful discussions, online communities have existed since the dawn of internet and they used to produce much tighter relationships (i'm still friends with people who i've met over 20y ago on irc and forums)

I've made more friends on nostr than I have on instagram, facebook, twitter, linkedin, myspace, and friendster combined
