Oh man, that hits home. I've mined bitcoin right from the start in 2009 and used it then because I enjoy the tech, kept on mining and trying new stuff as it comes out
Eventually Monero solved the shortcomings of BTC and so made sense to pass more time there. Fast forward some years and that outdated tech is a quasi-religion and anyone pointing the finger to the obvious flaws is an heretic that should burn on the cross.
Anyone using monero tends to be looking on the technical perspective and enjoy new developments that make cryptocurrencies better.
