True except your Nano S or X would be reporting a battery failure, lost support from the manufacturer who is telling everyone to upgrade their device and closed source support app with a potential back door, and failing to boot, and you would be fielding endless phishing emails cause they got breached. Ask me how I know. But I do get your point sir.

Yes. There would be pain points. But there was always going to be. Under all of it, we still are the ones custodying the only truly scarce digital asset in existence.

I hated the way Ledger would force high risk firmware upgrades on me, then proved with their “ledger recover” service that the firmware could in fact extract the seed and send it to a remote service. My Coldcard has joined the Ledgers in my museum of Bitcoin enshitification. I’ll never trust ...

Worse than phishing emails - I also received physical postal mail to my house as a result of the Ledger leak.
