so here is the thing, words are a reflection of perception.
You never registered anywhere as such. What you did was create a keypair, that allows you to sign publications under a unique ''name''/pointer. Step two is creating a publication declaring yourself to be called ''Sibericana'', and the profile picture you use and your bio etc.
The signature is enough for anyone on the receiving end to verify it came from "Sibericana" (technically speaking atleast).
Primal is a tool, it helped you do that. The app helped to create that keypair, it helps you to you to draft those publications and sign them. Make that same keypair available to another tool, and it can do the same.
Depending on the app/tool, you can do various things. Some apps allow you to publish articles, or put things for sale, publish code or apps themselves.
These apps also gather publications from other people and shows them to you. It knows what to go out and gather because in first instance it knows ''you'' (your public key); in second instance it therefore knows to look up what follow-list you published for example. And based on that list, it knows from what people to gather stuff.
Primal does this; make your key available to another app/tool, and it will do the same.
Alright, all well and good, but we are not dealing in magic. These publications need to go somewhere, and they have to come from somewhere. These places are what we call relays. They are just servers, in a way not dissimilar to what websites are. Relays are in full controll over what publications they accept, how long they retain them, and to who they give them out on request. At the same time, you have the flexibility to use whatever relay that suits your needs and will have you, and multiple at the same time as well. Both sides of this equation are liberated. You are not stuck with a particular server and will just have to accept its policies because everyone else is also there, and its the only way to interact with them. At the same time, these servers are free to set whatever arbitrary policy they want, because they are not some defacto public square that facilitates the interactions of billions of users and as a result society itself relies on.
You can just be where you are; I can be where i am, and your tool/app will automatically go where i am if there is cause to go and fetch my publications and vise versa.

Its a bunch of standardized actions in creating identity, using that identity to create publications, and to distribute and fetch those publications whereever they happen to be. Apps are tools that allow you to perform that method of interacting and organizing with others on the internet.
The language policing is not some purity test (i sometimes make mistakes as well), its to make clear something entirely different is happening from what you are used to.
Platforms are indeed places. Specific servers, with specific associated apps, where you have to knock on the front door to request an identity in order to interact on that platform. You existence there, is by their definition; your actions there are by their permission; the authenticity of your expression is by their recognition.
