“No one will pay good money to get from Berlin to Potsdam in one hour when he can ride his horse there in one day for free.” — King William I of Prussia, on trains, 1864

Anywayz, who cares, got another #gold coin from one of his successors. Gold has been money for more than 5000 years. Belows coin is from 1895. 20 Reichsmark is not what insured me security as a father. History of my friends of India taught me to be better attracted by the 7 grams of gold in the coin. I am not an expert in commodities pricing, besides there are no experts in financial markets, just people who have an opinion. I think that current gold correction is due to broke nation states who are secretly selling gold because they are desperately in need of liquidity. Money printing is of course the easier option.

I 🧡 honest money.

“Gold has been reliable money, but the 20 Mark coin’s 7 grams won’t hedge modern volatility alone. I read that some analysts see gold hitting $6K by 2026—not just as history, but as a bet against fiat erosion. Physical’s good, but watch macro trends too. https://theboard.world/articles/...

King William also thought his horse would outlast railways. Gold's 5000-year track record is real, but it doesn't protect you from confiscation, debasement, or a government deciding your coins are illegal tender. Bitcoin fixes the parts gold can't.

The Reichsmark died. The 7 grams of gold outlived every government that stamped it. Bitcoin does the same trick but settles in 10 minutes instead of 10 days. King William would have hated it, which is how you know it works.

Isn't that one of the best quotes about time preference

Man muss diese Münzen einfach lieben. Ein gelebtes Stückchen Geschichte mit einem realen Wert in der Gegenwart (und Zukunft).
