💯 yes. I don't know if it's to constantly occupy your brain, but it's definitely to make you feel not good enough so you buy things to fix yourself. Just look at shampoos - for men its 'fresh', 'luxorious' , for women it's 'repair', 'strengthen'. It's in small everyday things.
