A few weeks ago, the restaurant Mixtura Latina was listed on BTC Maps as one of the restaurants in Vienna that accepts Bitcoin.
Vienna is a city with more than 2 million inhabitants, but so far there was only one Bitcoin-friendly restaurant in the city. So, I was eager to check this claim and I organized last Saturday’s bitcoin walk with the goal to field-check.
When our group arrived at Gleisgarten, the food market where Mixtura Latina is located, we quickly realized that we were probably their first customers trying to pay with Sats.
However, after some initial confusion, they still used the non-custodial Wallet of Satoshi, which cannot receive funds inside the EU, we were able to make our payments.
We will most certainly return, and I can only ask you to support this place and encourage it to continue its Bitcoin-friendly policy by paying there with Sats.
Love, Phil

Can someone local support them to have a proper PoS solution for Bitcoin payement ? Like Bitcoinize device, or at least a good software solution, BTCPay, SwissBitcoinPay or similar. The harder part is to convince them to accept Bitcoin, once on board better show them the full potential and advertise...

"Bitcoin adoption in Vienna is still niche, but grassroots efforts like yours help normalize it. The article I read on ETF flows suggests institutional interest will pull more businesses into crypto—eventually. Right now, local Bitcoin walks probably do more for adoption than Wall Street bets." ...

this is the real BTC Maps problem. one bad listing sets the adoption narrative back for everyone who drove 20 minutes to test it. verified vs self-reported should be a first-class distinction.
