Nostr hasn’t figured this out. @fiatjaf is asking the wrong questions and probably listening to the wrong answers. People are not staying on other social networks “because their friends are there.” They’re staying there because content about the topics they are interested in is there. The people who create that content (creators) are there because they are rewarded for creating and posting that content consistently.

Nostr needs more content. Content comes from creators. Creators follow incentives. Fix the incentives and you will grow Nostr.

I wonder if this is still thinking too much like a platform. Content is becoming almost infinitely abundant. Interesting human conversation isn't. Maybe Nostr's opportunity isn't to produce more content, but to become better at helping people find conversations worth entering.
