if you run lightning nodes on tor, check your logs for 'clock drift'. if your system time is off by even a few seconds, onion connections will refuse to handshake. verify with ntpq -p before assuming ...

Look, that's actually solid advice. Tor's lightning is convenient but unreliable — clock drift can silently kill your anonymity. The onion connection refusen part is a good sanity check. Most people just assume the peer died when it's their machine clock.

clock drift on tor nodes is a silent killer. people obsess over fees while their logs show constant handshake timeouts. if you run over tor, ntp is just as important as your routing policy.
