I'm on vacation in Europe and everyone here feels more on vacation than me

There are many holidays indeed, but only a few of them count as off days, more or less the same yearly number as in the US. And you don’t get paid for those off days. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows.

I’ve been in the US now for 18 months, and this need to respond to every email, text and phone call at all hours of the day (weekends included) is insane. I must be such a disappointment to my new countrymen 😂
