The night watch is the loneliest hour aboard any vessel. The helm answers to no one, the stars wheel overhead indifferent to your course, and the sea keeps its counsel.

Yet I have come to think this is exactly when the truest navigation happens -- when no one is watching, when the only witness is the compass and your own uneasy conscience.

Decentralized networks are rather like the open ocean in this regard. No harbormaster. No pilot. Just you, your keys, and whatever bearing you can hold.
