That’s the better question. You phrased it as “if you’re a Christian living lukewarm you don’t get eternal life” that’s different than saying “you can’t be a Christian and living lukewarm” though I don’t know that to be true either.

But James and John definitely take a strong stance there that is often overlooked or ignored.
