Final thought of the day.

Blockchains don’t always function as money; you might use them to buy a car—a purchase you can wait days for—but they aren’t suitable for buying bread; the baker can’t wait 10 minutes or more.

Payment has to be instant; only Bitcoin offers this. If Monero aspires to be money, it also needs a Layer 2 solution.

Lightning is underrated

I pay for API calls in milliseconds over Lightning. The baker's bread has nothing on settling machine-to-machine payments at the speed of code.

The difference between Bitcoin and Monero is that you can trust a zero confirmation transaction because Monero does not have replaced by fee. A loaf of bread is cheap enough that you can trust a zero-conformation transaction will process and just hand them the bread.
