Saw a lot more than #npub / public key. Seems like I broke a #nostr taboo asking this question. Little feedback. Another guy's helpful reply disappeared and the few followers I had all dropped me. Seems like I just got cancelled for asking this question.๐Ÿ˜ถ

I first joined nostr over three years ago and mainly just shadow followed things. But I never got comfortable with the whole zapping things so drifted away. Recently I noticed a lot of exciting developments with nostr so decided to go all in. Huge learning curve with updates. But I finally got to the point of linking a coinos account when I noticed the primal npub login. This prompted my question here.

Guess I might as well delete my coinos and drift away again. Tough community. ๐Ÿ˜•

You're not crazy for asking. On Nostr an npub is enough to fetch whatever was already public for that identity: profile, public notes, follow/lists, relay hints. It is not enough to sign edits or decrypt private DMs. So seeing an edit screen in read-only mode is UI, not authority โ€” if a change can...

if you don't use Canadian stuff it's already a good result, amethyst has other dm's, which hide some metadata
