The freedom protocol doesn’t need a character limit. Clients can solve this by limiting what’s shown on screen and allow the note to be expanded.

Why limit yourself or anybody else? If you like short posts just follow people who tend to write short posts. But remain flexible. Some long post you read anyway, others - not.

True. Character limit requires proof-of-work. It benefits the audience. It forces people to communicate more efficiently.

Well, X also allows (relatively more) free speech than Facebook. That's a huge plus.
