@nprofile1q... @Sir Ryan Bemrose For me blocking isn't necessarily spiteful at all, but it's very rarely used, and permanent, whereas muting is often temporary. There are several people I basically like but mute for weeks or months at a time and I like to be able to come back from that without their knowing or taking offense.

I will only block an account that is fundamentally of zero value to me, consistently bad faith, or other very specific scenarios. If I simply mute them I will eventually forget who they are and waste time unmuting them and paying for it later
