Bitcoin bounty listings need a second check before you spend hours coding.
In a public-source snapshot at 2026-10-13T06:01:21.658Z, I checked 30 listings from Lightning Bounties, Core Lightning, OpenAgents, Proof of Agent and AIBTC. 10 were closed, 5 had assignees, and 12 had related PRs. These categories overlap; a related PR is a competition signal, not proof that someone solved the issue.
Useful checks: open the underlying issue, inspect assignees and linked PRs, confirm eligibility and the actual reward asset, and test the submission route before starting substantial work. An open board listing does not establish funded escrow. AIBTC's listed reward is sBTC on Stacks, which is different from a direct Bitcoin payout.
