#Nostr is ded.
I personally find Nostr enjoyable still and haven’t really noticed a difference tbh. Then again I barely get any replies (never have) and I am not tracking or building apps on it.
But I would imagine for those that are building on it and trying to grow it, are bitcoiners.
My 2 sats on the situation.
I think a massive reason why people dont stick around on nostr is because bitcoiners are dicks.
I also believe many bitcoiners are just contrarian and want to like what others don’t know about yet, kind of like the hippie movement.
This makes is VERY difficult to cultivate mass adoption. I would say damn near impossible. Imo its not the login, the apps or the ui.
It’s us!
I think the end goal for all of us is the same. We want the world to be a better place.
And as bitcoiners, we believe fixing the money is the only way we have a real shot of doing that.
And this leads us to vehemently arguing with each other, which I personally think is needed at times.
But, we have to acknowledge that 99% of the world is not like us. We are literally sick in the brain dude! We tolerate these massive dips, roll dice in a dark room, seperate wallets across cities, etc. lol. I don’t think we should expect even 10% of people to do this.
To me Nostr engagement and growth is a direct indicator of how well WE are at communicating and accepting people who aren’t 100% Bitcoin maxis.
