I wish Bitcoin truly the best.
I still hold my Bitcoin and keep my eyes open.
But based on the recent revelations about Core, about the [de]centralization state of Bitcoin, about the big players and big VCs in Bitcoin I think an alternative is needed.
And I think it is needed just like Bitcoin Knots was needed when Core decided to act against node runners and was revealed that they are compromised and corrupted.
When that happened 20% of the node runners migrated to Bitcoin Knots in a matter of days and 55% did not upgrade to the malicious to the network version Core 30.
Currently Core are assuming all the power, after their victory over BIP-110 and have removed Luke as BIP editor. But even with Luke as part of Core they pushed the OP_RETURN blow up against opposition of 4:1, so they already possessed the power over the protocol.
Now Core are completely free to do whatever they want with the protocol or more accurately what their VC funders and the big Consortium tells them.
As we have already seen the direction will most probably be Ethereum 2.0 programmable money/database with smart contracts, BitVM etc.
For now Bitcoin still functions as it used to be, which is good.
But I see it as really good idea to have more conservative monetary version of Bitcoin that resembles as best as possible Satoshi's blueprints.
It will be small, tiny but it will be there and it will be an option. Just like Bitcoin Knots was an option and for most of the time was less than 1% of the nodes network.
And as we see the market needs different solutions.
I think Monero ecosystem are also freedom fighters but more focused on privacy and in that regard it complements Bitcoin.
Freedom of choice is a good thing. Its a human right. 🧡
