Nostr fails at the one thing that I use it for: freedom from censorship, and has no other very redeeming characteristics apart from being an open spec that anyone can implement.

I would prefer a tighter more efficient system specifically designed for censorship resistance and privacy (Nostr will shortly be fucked in the ass by quantum computing due to its design) but if everyone is simply trying to work out how to monetize it then that probably won't happen.
