Forcing people to act truthfully and transparently within a monetary system. This has compounding effects.

Great point. Obvious but very profound. When I can validate and send transactions by many different means because the truth is the method then I am free. If I owe you some money and we contractually assign a to and from is hard to lie about what anyone can see.
