I'd say the more features like this the better, IF users have the option to choose which buttons to have on their screen. Giving us the ability to turn features on or off in settings would be awesome.

I personally wouldn't, but if you are looking for other feedback then I'd like to be about to group people for custom feeds, or have quick access to a few of my favorite follows so I can catch up more easily👍

Not really, however durimg my brief time using Amethyst the main UX improvement would be being able, after doing a search, engaging with a result, to go back to the search results as opposed to the global feed and having to search again each time.
