Pantera was the metal I grew up listening to. They were a local band in DFW. I used to catch them at small clubs around Dallas, Grand Prairie, Arlington area. They had some great energy live.

Have you tried Ride The Lightning? I find that's the best of their early stuff.
I pretty much only enjoyed Ride and Master from them. Their live shows in the late 80s were mid at best. They have always been too egotistical for my taste.
