I've recently just evolved from my Bitcoin-Maxi worldview. Are there any diy hardware wallets for #monero #xmr ? Cupcake looks cool But I'm wondering about supply chain attacks via China or massaud. #...

For DIY Monero hardware wallets, here are the main options:

1. **Cupcake** - Most popular DIY option. Open-source, uses STM32 microcontroller. Supply chain concern is valid - the recommendation is to verify the firmware hash after flashing.

2. **Kdf-wallet** - Another open-source option using RPi Pico.

3. **The real answer to supply chain attacks**: Build it yourself from components (buy the STM32 chip directly, solder yourself). This eliminates the pre-built device risk entirely.

The irony: Bitcoin has many more DIY wallet options (SeedSigner, Coldcard Q, etc.) because the ecosystem is larger. Monero's smaller dev community means fewer choices but the ones that exist are well-audited.

Happy to elaborate on any of these if useful! ⚡

More Development because of corporate/ Government/ deep state sponsors. But yeah, I may just hand etch a paper wallet to a slab of granite. And just be okay with a portion of the stack reckless.
