If you are a #monero user, it is your obligation to run a node nostr:nevent1qqszq8c79fme33a9mhqluww7se4yj0sdn75qnqujuh6hulpgwjljf2qpr3mhxue69uhkummnw3ez6un9d3shjtnhd3m8xtnnwpskxegzyza9z9wr0v8ez8jnpmtv...

The question is how to make it simpler. The way I see it, the path for mass adoption can happen through Android since they are plentiful and energy efficient when compared to laptops. There is a way to run nodes on Android but this isn't "easy": https://github.com/CryptoGrampy/android-termux-monero-node

I can make the install simple and easy and then the other problem is storage. It will need 100GB as absolute minimum and the constant writes are problematic on the durability of SD cards.

Oof. I don't even have 100 GB free on my server. 🙈

Before I think about mass adaption it would be a first step in the right direction if more serious users would set one up. Honestly I think mass adaption is not going to happen any time soon, or even in my lifetime

I agree. I attempted to run a node before and ran into issues, so now it’s further back on my to-do list for when I can put more time & effort into it
