It rains a lot in New Zealand, but i'm not sure folks really understand how much.

739mm of rain just fell on the Tasman region in a weekend.

London gets ~600mm in an entire YEAR.

That's London's whole annual rainfall โ€” plus an extra 140mm โ€” dropped on one NZ hillside in about two days.

Needless to say, there was flooding. New Zealand's main changes it'll see due to climate change is even more rain. So this is just a start.

To be fair, more rain is probably much more solvable than no rain. You get a couple dutchies and they will have it solved in a weekend

How would you describe the climate in general?
Bill Cypher · 3d
Climate change being unique to each region was a key plot point in Termination Shock by Neal Stephenson. Oddly I don't remember NZ being mentioned or even any Kiwi characters.

I describe weekly rains to my friends in uk in "London year equivalents". It seems to explain better than mm

Any wheather phenomenon is now "climate change" ๐Ÿ™„
