Draft, war economy, suspension of the constitution, third term.
You heard it here.
I'll give you the point for indeed bring the place I heard it. Didn't believe it though.
Possibility of conscription, but thats not a bad thing. Countries with compulsory service tend to have much lower obesity and crime rates. A bit of exercise and discipline in your 20s isn't a bad thing.
The US has always been a war economy too.
Suspension of the Constitution is where you fall down. Given its the founding document of the US you can't "suspend" it. Removing it from force means removing the US from existence and creating 50 independent countries basically.
I think the US will disintegrate within 50 years max (California or Texas will secede within 20) but not in 2 years.
the 22nd Amendment may come under attack though. The 2 term limit only got passed in 1951 so its not a founding principle, and FDR had 4 consecutive terms so there is precedent.
It will be an interesting argument. it requires 38 states to change the Constitution, and 32 voted Trump last election so there is a possibility. Fairly unlikely though, and probably not a good idea for the GOP given current voting heavily favours the Dems. They could lock up the White House for decades if they ever figure out how to appeal to centre voters.
