Because non-admins don't want to mess with relays. Most drivers don't want to tweak their engine just to drive.
Learning about which relay is good for this, and bad for that; and has the right features in the array of possible options... for every context of relay, is not simple. A typical user is going to see that pile of research as a large use of time while being frustrated, and with the possibility of messing up their Noste experience. Add in complex UX for relay settings and it becomes a wall.
We need to make relay selection and usage *simple*, and devs gravitate toward making the subject more complex. I love complexity in many cases, but it's also often a liability and not a benefit.
