I'm starting a series highlighting my favorite Magic: The Gathering cards in every color and color combination (excluding four-color).

Starting with colorless: Teferi's Puzzle Box 🧩

This was one of the first cards I truly fell in love with. I remember buying it back in 2013 with money I earned working at Kroger.

One reason it's so memorable is that it introduced me to chaos cards. When I first started playing, I had no idea that effects this game-bending existed.

Nostalgia aside, it's a surprisingly useful card. It provides a much needed source of card advantage in mono-red outside of wheel effects, and it lets everyone at the table see more of their decks, plans be damned.

The fact that playing this instantly turns an EDH table into a vibes-based game of Mario Party makes it a 10/10 in my book.

I wonder if my mom still has my collection from the 90's in a box of shit somewhere. I bet some of them might be worth money.

Chaos cards like Teferi's Puzzle Box remind me how unpredictability shapes strategy—whether in games or defense. Just read about Israel testing laser-based Iron Beam in combat, another disruptive tech that could redefine deterrence. https://theboard.world/articles/israel-deploys-iron-beam-laser...
