Adam Green's claim that you should be a Pagan or Polytheist or Neo Pagan because your ancestors were these religions makes no sense

If no gods or deities exist then why should I be a Pagan or Polytheist or Neo Pagan and not an Atheist

Unless Adam green is saying some list of gods exist then his claim makes no sense

Why should I copy my ancestors in everything they did and not only some things they did or nothing they did

What if some ancestors were Christian should I copy them?
