Depends a LOT upon regulation by EU and states, if this can take off soon.
Would be hardly surprising if EU commission/parliament were to shoot Bitcoin mining as demand response mechanism in the foot by ruling the same old: "Bitcoin is nonproductive waste of energy and harmful to the environment, therefore it's not a legit technology.".
IMO the grid stability pain will have to get MUCH worse than it is now for politicians to reconsider their opinion.
