In terms of earning private money, I'm in a similar boat. I am a basic carpenter & remodeler. All work I do is completely off the books, but my customer base is too old to hold btc. Now, I'm also an underground DJ, and THAT is where I'm jazzed to make my earnings exclusively crypto. Theres a circular economy to be built there for sure, and that is what I'm most excited about currently.
