there's something about gumaca cathedral at night that stops you mid-step.
this is san diego de alcala cathedral — our town's cathedral here in gumaca, quezon. a baroque-style roman catholic church that has stood as the heart of this community for centuries. by day it's familiar and constant. but at night, with the lights hitting the facade just right, it becomes something else entirely. something that makes you pause and actually look at it like it's the first time.
i've passed by this church my whole life. but taking this shot made me see it differently. the way the artificial light brings out the details of the baroque architecture against the dark sky, the stillness of the surroundings, the quiet that only nighttime in a small town can give — it all came together in one frame.

this place is more than a landmark. it's where our town gathers, mourns, celebrates, and prays. and at night, it glows like it knows that. 📷🌱
