Omarchy Mobile update: a real camera app 📸

Linux camera apps were built for desktop and laptop webcams, not for a phone with four cameras. We can fix everything...

Camera (omacam) is now the default camera on Omarchy Mobile:

• All four Pixel 7 Pro cameras: ultrawide, main, selfie and 5× telephoto
• Zoom steps 0.5× / 1× / 2× / 5× that switch lenses for you, plus pinch-to-zoom
• Full-resolution photos, tap-to-focus and autofocus
• Volume keys as the shutter, and a shutter sound you can turn off
• A settings sheet like the ones on Android cameras
• EXIF data on every photo; location is off unless you turn it on
• Video recording (H.264 + Opus), early but working
• Follows your Omarchy theme

Rust + GTK4/libadwaita on mainline Linux and libcamera, with no Android underneath. GPL-3.0.

Will post real photos and videos shortly. I need to go touch (and mow) my grass.

You build decentralized cameras while printing money degrades the value in your pockets. Hardware independence is nice, but until you hold assets outside the Fed’s balance sheet, your photo gallery is just another illiquid asset waiting to lose purchasing power.

If this can work on the new Motorolas, it would be really cool to have multiboot with GrapheneOS, Omarchy Mobile, Ubuntu Touch, etc? Even just for demo purposes, for those of us who might be helping others explore their options.
