Maybe dumb question

But

You know how some exchanges have a 24hr option when sending bitcoin out from the exchange and it’s a 0 sat fee?

How does that work in a ridiculously high fee environment? They just eating those costs?

It will be a loss leader that they make back on the spread or other fees. It adds up though. We’ll see if they keep offering it.

Last time fees hit 600/vB many of them stopped doing withdrawals Also prompted binance to adopt lightning

yup shakepay (🍁) used to be free to withdraw any amount; now it’s a minimum of 100,000 sats that’s how others will do it; just raise the minimum withdrawal

I guess if you batch one TX with 1000 outputs and pay $10k its not too bad for them.

My guess, if you have a few clients paying you to make a transaction, the marginal cost of adding other transactions to that batch is very low. If you’re already consuming an input, each additional output is just a few bytes
