no, users should have a choice of what battery to use and freedom to replace them. any form factor of battery can be rechargable including AA. built in batteries are engineered obsolesence and tvs last too long for the remote to be engineered like that.

Rechargeable but not glued in. Nowadays pocket lights come with charging plugs. Must be dirt cheap to add a USB C plug and circuit.

Mine are lasting years, most devices should have rechargable batteries but TV remotes are at the very bottom of the list. Did you prefer when ylur watch was not rechargeable but lasting 2-3 years or when it is but last barely a day? Also, many battery devices should not even exist in the first plac...

All devices should have swappable batteries in my opinion. Especially game controllers should just use AA's. My good ones do and its so much better to charge a set of AA's in 2 hours and have it last weeks. Of course recharging is important to, but thats why they should put rechargables in the box ...
