I _just_ ran into this rather frustrating change in #FreeCAD defaults that has arrived in 1.1. If you run into weird 'wire is not closed' issues if you're importing external geometry, either _manually...
@nprofile1q... For every person that says it should default to construction geometry, there will be one that says the opposite. I would offer that all geometry should be available as construction without needing to use the tool. If you want something to be non-construction, then you use the tool. This is how it is in SolidWorks, and I find it to be an efficient workflow.
